Can be replaced by 2 F cells (see below) or a suitably modified 2 × C or 2 × D cell holder (depending on room in battery compartment).
If you are feeling really adventurous and you can find a brand of Lantern battery that is packed with 4 R25 cells or a couple of "F" cells, you could make an 800 by using a couple of cardboard tubes (the cells need to be insulated from each other) a couple of brass strips and a short piece of wire.
