Software and Datafiles
(Version 5)

For programming the radio you will require the correct programming lead. I have had countless emails asking which pin on the radio programming socket connects to what pin on a USB plug.

You cannot connect the radio direct to a PC USB port.
Damage may occur to the radio, PC or both if you try!
The programming lead contains electronic circuitry that converts the data coming from the radio to the level that the PC requires and converts data from the PC to a level that the radio requires.
See: Make a Maas DX5000 Programming Lead for the schematic and component list to make a serial port version (will work with USB - SERIAL adaptors). Please, no more emails about this!

These Datfiles are compatible with Version 5 software, if you find any problems with them let me know (webmaster@highfields-arc.co.uk) what the problem is and I'll see what I can do. They may also be compatible with later (to come) versions.

Just select the one you are interested in, click on it and follow your browser's prompts to save the file. All files will require decompressing for which you may require either WinRAR (RARLAB (www.rarlab.com)) or WinZIP (WinZip (www.winzip.com)). Free downloads for these compression utilities are available at the sites listed.

Software

Version 5 software (4.52 MB exe file).

Datafiles

This list shows a description of the file, the download name and file size of that download. The name in brackets below that is the uncompressed file name that is used with the radio programming software (do not try to use the ".zip" or ".rar" files with your programming software). Each uncompressed ".dat" file should be 14.1 kB in size.

If any settings seem to go strange while experimenting with programming options, perform a hardware reset and reload your file.
