UPS Invoice NRxxxxxxx

I have received 8 of these emails within 24 hours! All from different "people within UPS" the "reference NRxxxxxxx" changes (and one was titled "Delivery Problem NRxxxxxxx", but the message is otherwise the same:

"Dear customer!
We failed to deliver postal sent on the 28th of April in time because the recipient's address is wrong.
Please print out the invoice copy attached and collect the package at our department.

UPS International."

This text was in the form of an image which included the UPS logo at the top.

Additionally most of the "messages" have included some world news headlines at the bottom of the email in plain text.

Image of the file icon and detailsThe attached file is a ZIP format file with the "NRxxxxxxx" number which, when opened, presents you with a file named "UPSInvoice.exe" that has a Word icon (right).

I went no further as

If you receive such an email, delete it.

UPS tell me that they have nothing to do with these emails and would not normally contact a customer in this way for a failed delivery.

Good advice is to Never click on Any ".exe" file that you receive via email (unless sent by prior arrangement). Even something that just "turns up" and seems to be from someone you know and trust could be a nasty wanting to infect your computer.
